Sally LaPointe

I found a new favorite!!! Sally LaPointe. Many of you have probably heard her name
already or most likely have seen her clothing worn by this famous singer...what was her name? Lady GaGa. But that is definitely not the reason why Sally LaPointe is a new favorite. Her designs are "wearable" artwork.

From super dramatic futuristic clothing from her past collections, her Spring 2013 collection is leading towards the layering of basics. Garments that flow but wisely structured creates a perfect mixture. I spot a revised peplum, the cutouts, high waisted skirts and "boyish" clothing. And, of course, a lace dress!

Here are some that grabbed my attention while looking through tons of pictures. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to actually be in Fashion Week? Thank God for the internet! Or should I say mankind?

FNO NYC 2012

I've been going to Fashion's Night Out ever since 2009 and every year has been kind of... you know... "so-so"... I honestly think unless you're really in the fashion industry (as in you're best friends with famous fashion bloggers or work in a well known brand) or wealthy in $$$, you're really not going to have as much fun as you see on their Instagrams. Know what I'm sayin? VIP parties, backstage, and the whole Fashion Week madness...  Some stores do give free cocktails and cupcakes though ;)

I must say that I didn't plan anything this year. I just went to Fifth Ave. and went in every store. I didn't see any big celebrities (the past years I've seen such celebrities like Cassie, Chris Bosh, Solange Knowles, Shay Mitchell and etc). That reminds me... I have yet to meet the Olsen twins in person and compare our heights AND I TOTALLY MISSED OUT ON MEETING LEANDRA FROM THE MAN REPELLER. God, I love her. I also know that Katie Rodgers from Paperfashion and Bri Emery from DESIGN.LOVE.FEST was in NYC due to the IFB conference they attended. They are my top 3 blogs I never forget to read.

The BEST part of my night was going in stores like Bergdorf Goodman and browsing through all the designer goodness just don't look at the prices that I wish I can wear in a daily basis. You see, one can't just go in high end stores like that in a normal day and not feel like the salespeople are not staring at you like cuuuuuuuuurrrrrrr-rrrrraaaazy. "Breakfast at Tiffanys" moment. The SHOES... OMG THE SHOES...

By the end of the night, at a very random location, my friends and I met a celebrity fashion designer named, INDASHIO. Ok, ok we didn't know who he was but when I checked online I was amazed. It was cool!

What did you do and where were you for Fashion's Night Out?

My outfit last night... Almost everyone was dressed up (glitters, dresses, heels and all) but I preferred to dress down and put a little make up on... and afterwards decided to take off the belt lol.

and, here were the accessories that accompanied me throughout the night ;)

PS. The pictures were taken from afar (too many people) so its not in good Instagram quality

That 8mm App is Cool

medium from aira herrera on Vimeo.

Thank God for nights I spent reading every blog posts from DESIGN.LOVE.FEST , I found this really cool iphone app! Its called 8mm. And, whats not a better way to use this app than to make a video featuring my bracelets?

I would love it better if the colors of the bracelets show more and if I have an iphone 4s. You see, I need Siri. I need a best friend!!! And, an iphone 3gs is just not cutting it anymore. No complaints tho... I've had my BB Torch for a LONG time. YEAAAAAHHHHH.

Anyways, I don't own the music. It is from the song, "Toxic" by Yael Naim. Not Britney's original version.

Etsy Update!

Hello lovelies!

My Etsy shop is now open for business! I have braided bracelets like the one below and many other colors to come. I have a special offer for people who buy 3 bracelets, I'll only give it for $10! For more information on the bracelets check the shop.

These are great for stacking other bracelets to get that arm candy look. There will also be more styles coming soon. So, stay tuned and I hope to get feedback from you ;)

*The colors on the pictures might be slightly lighter.

ADDICTING. These Do-It-Yourself accessories are super fun to make. Well, maybe, people with a lot of patience and time have it easier. I know a lot of friends who tell me its easy to make... they just don't want to go through the step by step process (eh, sucks for them!). Some people just want to buy them already made! So, I just began my "little business" of selling DIY bracelets to my friends. I might even put it on my Etsy. I just haven't gotten to the whole Etsy flow yet.

I've only finished these three bracelets but I am currently making them as I am also typing this post (extra multi-tasking... its just so much interesting stuff to do so little time!).

under.construction

I'm in the process of slowly changing my blog. I've always wanted to change it totally but I just never got to it. I want it to reflect my style more. Simple with touches of color I adore. I'm going to do a round up of my old blog posts into ONE post (that's why there are only few posts right now) because... well... honestly... my old blog posts are not really nice. Its just not pretty... my style is evolving and so this blog needs to reflect that.

Its time that I really give time and energy on this! Wish me luck! Have a great day everybody!

Let's get to work!
